The Auditorium Theatre is a cultural institution that offers original theater, dance, and musical programming; presents the work of other artists; and is active in arts education. Founded in 1889 as a theater for the people of Chicago, approximately 265,000 individuals attend shows each year. Its original performances include Too Hot to Handel – The Jazz Gospel Messiah and it hosts touring companies such as Alvin Ailey American Dance. In 2022 it welcomed the Kyiv City Ballet of Ukraine. This award provides general operating support to the Auditorim Theatre as part of the Foundation’s Culture, Equity, and the Arts program.

The Auditorium Theatre is an independent cultural institution that offers original theater, dance, and music programming, presents the work of other artists, and is active in arts education. Founded in 1889 as a theater for the people of Chicago, approximately 250,000 individuals attend more than 250 shows each year. With this International Connections Fund award, the Auditorium Theatre engages in an exchange with the Malpaso Dance Company in Havana, Cuba and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago to produce two new dance works. Funds support community outreach activities in Chicago.

More than 250,000 patrons a year attend more than 250 shows at the Auditorium Theatre each year. The Theatre’s original artistic productions, like its annual musical, "Too Hot to Handel: The Jazz-Gospel Messiah," build new collaborations, highlight local talent, and interest diverse audiences in the arts. Ten thousand young people and teachers participate in a wide variety of education programs offered throughout the year.
