Established in 2010, Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives (CNI) seeks to revitalize neighborhoods and create jobs through high-impact community development projects. With projects in the Bronzeville,  Englewood, Pullman, and Roseland neighborhoods of Chicago’s South Side, it provides financial resources to entrepreneurs; develops tourism, retail, and other sources of economic development; and engages community members in the design of projects to ensure those initiatives serve local interests. With this X Grant for professional development, CNI staff take a series of training courses in accounting and attend the New Markets Tax Credit Conference.

With this award, CNI pursues place-based community economic development projects in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago.
