Launched in Paris in 2008, Global Zero combines policy analysis, backchannel diplomacy, media outreach, and public engagement to seek lasting peace and security in a world without nuclear weapons. In collaboration with the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), Global Zero participates in this project and re-grants a portion of this award to the Moscow-based Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS) to launch a U.S.-Russia dialogue on Iran’s nuclear program. This award produces recommendations and implementation plans for the United States and Russia to work together to reduce nuclear risks vis-à-vis Iran. We are recommending a separate, concurrent award to CNAS for this undertaking.

These efforts are centered on reducing nuclear risks and reasserting U.S. leadership in global nuclear affairs.
