Founded in 2003, Northwest Side Housing Center (NWSHC) identifies and responds to the needs of Chicago's Belmont Cragin neighborhood through coordinating and executing a resident-driven community economic development strategy. NWSHC achieves its mission through work in three areas: community development, financial opportunity, and organizing. With this renewal award, NWSHC continues to scale its services for neighborhood-based small businesses, placemaking efforts, and leadership development as the community recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

With this award for place-based community economic development, NWSHC better integrates the services it provides in order to increase the economic security of Belmont Cragin residents during the COVID-19 pandemic recovery period.
