Established in 2003, Teamwork Englewood (Teamwork) works to convene, connect, and mobilize organizations in Englewood to work toward the shared goal of a stronger, unified community. In partnership with community organizations, schools, faith-based institutions, and businesses, Teamwork Englewood focuses on public safety, the provision of services to populations with special needs, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles for all residents. Teamwork’s areas of focus include: housing and public spaces, health and wellness, employment and economic development, public safety, and education and youth. Teamwork's employment and economic development work focuses retail corridor development. Alongside its network partners, Teamwork provides technical assistance and helps to secure capital for a number of development projects on and around Racine Avenue in West Englewood. This award for general operating support strengthens Teamwork as it works to facilitate opportunity and support place-based community economic development in the Englewood community.

This renewed award enables Teamwork Englewood to implement the ongoing strategies emerging from the work of the residents in each of these key areas, including continued commercial corridor development within the community.
