TechEquity Collaborative envisions a world where the growth of the technology industry creates economic prosperity for everyone, and where technology sector employees and companies are engaged and active participants in making our economy equitable. Its mission is to mobilize technology workers and companies to advance structural change that addresses economic inequity at its roots. TechEquity does this in three primary ways. First it creates educational spaces in which the technology community can deepen its understanding of structural inequities, the history behind them, and the solutions that can be enacted. Second, TechEquity advocates for public policy that addresses structural inequity in the economy. It works on issues that have a nexus with technology and the economy, with a focus on housing, workforce, and labor. Third, it researches, develops, and promotes equitable corporate practices that build equity and opportunity in the broader economy. The award provides general operating support to TechEquity.
