Founded in 2006, Theatre Y is steeped in the theatrical traditions of Eastern Europe. An ensemble company, Theatre Y’s productions are devised and developed by its members, which represent the broad diversity of Chicago’s population. With this International Connections Fund award, Chicago-based Theatre Y collaborates with Nyari Mozi, a Serbian dance company, on “The Camino Project,” an experience of collective walking and theatric production inspired by the 500-mile pilgrimage across Spain called the Camino de Santiago.
