Founded in 1957, the Department of Political Science at University of Oslo is Norway’s oldest university political science department. Its employees engage in active cooperation with national and international research institutions, as well as provide advice and input to the Norwegian government and international institutions across a broad range of policy areas. This award supports a research assistant assigned to the Oslo Nuclear Project (ONP). The research assistant will facilitate three sets of activities: online dissemination, digital teaching resources, and collaboration with open-source analysts for research and teaching. Outcomes include continued interaction and exchanges between academics and policymakers in Norway, and deeper ties between research communities throughout Europe by facilitating virtual workshops.

This award supports the Oslo Nuclear Project (ONP), which aims to educate and train a new generation of policy experts on nuclear proliferation, arms control, and strategy. ONP brings perspectives on these issues from non-nuclear weapons states into the mainstream international debate through increased interaction and publications in leading international outlets. Outcomes of this award include increased nuclear policy expertise among European scholars and policymakers and stronger networks among scholars in Europe working on these issues.
