A data analysis of Chicago-area dance organizations found a growing but unequal landscape. The number of dancers, studios, and schools is increasing, and funding grew 46 percent from 2006-2015. But 56 percent of funding was directed to the three largest dance organizations. MacArthur grantee Fractured Atlas sponsored Sustain Arts to produce the report with Candid and See Chicago Dance to fill a gap in research that can help inform decisions within organizations and inspire further research on dance communities.
